The Bassculture Amsterdam foundation is alive from 1995, by programming on local radio and organizing events at various nightclubs, which turned up to be a big success. With our core group of people that are willing to put in their time and effort to make it work, Bassculture has never stopped growing since about then.

By organising events and facilitating collaborations with both local- and international artists, the Bassculture foundation provides a platform for new possible meltdowns and developments.

Bassculture is all about and connecting talented people and established names, making and promoting new music and visual arts. With a deep respect to the roots & reggea, soundsystem and vinyl culture we came from, we hope to stay an inspiring and forward-thinking organization that promotes
music, art and culture for many more years.

Bassculture Soundsystem

They say the only good system is a soundsystem..
In 2016 Dj Vette Mette and technician Foeke started building their own and since then the BASSCULTURE SOUDSYSTEM kept growing and getting better. Nowadays the soundsystem is in full effect and can turn practicly every stage, venue or festival area to a true dancehall.

As of now the soundsystem is available for bookings and collaborations. Bassculture can not only provide the sound but also we can deliver a programme of dj's and selectors who bring the tunes.

Alliance Nest is a collaboration consisting of professional artists, musicians, collectives and other creative people and alumni from i.e. Kunstacademie Minerva, Frank Mohr, Rijksacademie, Academie for Popculture. Each participant has their own autonomous expertise varying from music, visual or installation arts or (festival)programming. In Alliance Nest they join their efforts and skills to create new experiences that bring together music, art, food, and good times.

The name Alliance Nest refers to A Lion's Nest. Every participant / lion has its own unique character, expertise and personality and they all have their own role wich adds value to the lions nest as a collective and to each other.

Alliance Nest is also the name of a non-commercial event (for all ages) in wich they all come together. In this event you will enter their lair and be subjected to a variaty of visual arts and artworks, see a line up of live artists and dj's playing different styles and sounds over a full soundsystem, have a good meal, and might make some new connections.

Caliente is the foodtruck specialised in latin-american foods.
With years of experience and knowledge from working in Mexico, Brazil and Peru we have made a selection of the best dishes and recipies.

Now we are bringing this experience to the Netherlands. With authenticity and quality as our main focus. We use high quality products and a traditional approach to the preparation of our dishes

Also we make an effort to bringing a spectacular experience by bringing good food and making it look good!

Bassculture Foundation finds it's in dub and vinyl culture.
Through the years we have had the privilege to work with many inspiring arists in the fields of art and music and we have also had the great pleasure to put some of these collaborations on wax!

While maintaining a deep respect to the culture we come from, we have a lot of love for music that combines new elements, cross-over genres and doesn't put itself inside a box.

As a foundation, we aim to promote and facilitate music that brings refreshment.

The records we put out are made with alot of love and are released in limited quantities. To this day we have released and collaborated in releases of music from artists like:

Earl Sixteen, Mikey Murka, Dub Creator, Filtercutter, Umeme Afrorave, Sinas and Speschar.

We hope to add more names to this in the near future.
